Representatives of Perm have taken part in Russian-British forum on creative economy.
British Council in Russia with the assistance of the British Embassy in Russia and "Creative Industries" Agency carried out the first Russian-British forum on the creative economy in Moscow. The aim of the forum is the development of the relations between Russia and Great Britain in creative and cultural spheres through the exchange by theory and practical experience in the field of creative economy development.
The representatives of the federal, regional and municipal authorities, higher education, NGOs, mass media, representatives of creative industries took part in the Forum. Perm city was represented by Victor Ageyev, Deputy Chief Executive.
At present in many countries the development of creative industries is a strategic priority for recovery of economic growth, increase in employment and reinforcement of social cohesion.
The moderator of the forum, the leading expert of the consulting company «Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy», Andrew Erskine underlined:"During the forum we've considered the main aspects of the development of the effective strategies of the progress of creative industries. It includes the support of business and enterprising, investments, development of clusters and the expansion of the role of creativity and culture for the competitive growth of cities and regions. We've carried out case studies, due to this, we hope, the conference will become an important step in the development of the creative industries in Russia".
Perm Deputy Chief Executive, Victor Ageev emphasized: "The conclusion of the experts is that the possible way to ensure an eligible employment level is the development of manufacturing of immaterial products: ideas, knowledge, designer's decision, cultural processes. I came across many of such ideas several years ago in the book "Perm Krai - the Territory of Competitive Development". The awareness of the fact that we are on the right way, which is shared by the leading economies of the world, makes it possible to believe in the success of our city and krai".
